Lighting

We ran a few tests on the different types of IBL lighting we might be using in our scenes and how we could play with the lights in the environment to create the atmosphere.

Town lighting

We grabbed a few hdr images off the net as stock for the evening look of the environment and tested with different lighting to see how it would work best.

Shot 021 Lighting

We picked one of the shots we are currently working on to test out the lighting as well. This is to check and see if the lighting works for the shot and ensure that it is well lit throughout the sequence.uence.

After some feedback about the last lighting test, we decided to redo the lighting to see if we could come up with something more interesting for the film that the brown dirty tones of the entire film.

I thought of using a different colour light to maybe cast a different mood to the scene. Generally I like how slightly more colourful and interesting the scene looks. The blue light was definately too cool. It made the attention go to the yellow window at the back. The yellow light just made Cottier looked very dirty the scene kind of went back to the dark brown murky hue.

Last week's lighting result against this week's result. I think the brightness of the windows need to be toned down a lot more. They're taking up too much attention away from the character. I think I like this week's results better. The scene looks more colourful and interesting and it compliments well with the brown murky hues I have on the buildings.
